Roll over Rover!

I put Brett down on his tummy for some tummy time while I made Blaine lunch. When I came back in this is what I found. Keep in mind he is 1 day shy of being 2 months, I'm in BIG trouble.

Look what I can do...

Six weeks old and he already has his head up.

The Boy's

The Story

Brett was screaming the other morning, Blaine decided he was going to help by telling Brett a story. You can see how impressed Brett was.

Halloween

Blaine finally wore a Halloween costume without crying, we weren't so lucky with Brett. We had been asking Blaine for a month what he wanted to be for Halloween, the answer was always the same, "I want to be Great Grandpa Blaine." I had the "costume" all figured out, we were good to go. Then the day before his preschool Halloween celebration he decided he wanted to be a Ghost, so the night before I made him a ghost costume. The day of prechool, he decided the ghost costume was to scarry. So I packed both the ghost costume and his Buzz Lightyear costume, since I didnt want my kid to be the only one without a costume. You can see which one he chose.

WLCP Pumpkin Carving Contest

Blaine's preschool hosted a pumpkin carving contest at the Rosemont Middle School. Blaine's pumpkin won "Most Lovable". Jeff commented on how well done the whole thing was. They were giving an itinerary when they arrived, they had the pumpkin carving, two separate crafts, photos, snacks and the judging. They had a great time and came home with lots of goodies.

Introducing Brett Douglas

Brett was born October 1st at 7:11am. He weighed 6lbs, 11oz, and was 19" long. It was a very fast birth, it took them longer to get the epidural and IV in me than it took to have him. Blaine is loving having his new baby brother, he likes to help change diapers and wants to feed him the bottle. When Brett cries Blaine tells him stories or sings him songs.

First Day of School

Blaine started preschool this year at the West Linn Community Preschool. He was so excited that he got himself dressed. Everything was backwards, ie: underwear, shirt and shorts, but he picked everything out himself and made the effort. He was so excited, when he got to school he through his arms out wide and announced to the room,
"I'm here"
He then proceeded to tell everybody that he is big now. (We have been telling him that he couldn't start school until he was bigger.)

RIP Allie

On August 6, Allie passed away in the back of Jeff's truck after spending the weekend at grandma and grandpa's. She had been sick a very short time, the vet suspected it was an auto immune disease. To the best of my knowledge she wasn't in pain, but you could tell she was miserable, for a dog that always operated at MOCK2 to barely being able to move, it just wasn't her. We were devastated by her loss and still miss her very much.

Seaside

We went to Seaside this summer for the first time. We had a great time, although next time we go I think we'll avoid going during the Hood to Coast race. Us and 30,000 people is just a bit to crowded.

West Linn Parade - featuring the West Linn Community Preschool

Blaine's preschool participated in the West Linn Old Time Fair over the summer. It was a circus theme. The kids were the "animals" and the parents were the "animal tamers". Blaine decided to ride his motorcycle, amazingly he rode it the whole way. Please note my husbands shirt, when we left the house he was wearing a black shirt as was specified by the preschool as the requested attire. As he and Blaine made their way down the parade route I noticed he was now wearing a Washington Husky Football t-shirt. Yes, he is crazy.

We're Back!

So we have been out of the habit of posting lately, this has been due in part to a trouble making toddler and an exhausting pregnancy. We are going to try and do better.
